Loving Life

Each day I gaze out at the warm sunrise another day is born.
I thank God for the life he gave me but loneliness is my mourn.

Then you came along, you were a gift from God for all my sorrow.
I've never felt so alive and happy, it is temporary I know,
for nothing virtuous ever stays the same, you are only mine to borrow.

The raindrops you see are my tears of solitary each time you are gone.
I am only given the memories and I accept that my heart will be reborn.
I take each day as it is given and appreciate what life brings my way.
But the only time I am alive in this life is when I am held in your arms,
that is where I want to stay.

I believe my purpose in this life is to be here for you and not really here for me
but I recognize and cherish my role because that is what life for me was meant to be...
