Breaking Free

You made it out of your sacred place
Daring to take on the world
Only to find it is cold and not very safe.

Your beauty within not yet unveiled
For dew-like beads cover you now
Streams of red behind your trail.

Not meant for you to enjoy this night
Is the melodious cadence of the river
And soft glow of the moonlight.

Struggling upon the branch so high
Wanting so much to be released
Can't you spread your wings
and learn to fly, oh beautiful butterfly?
