Liar's Moon

Sitting in the shadows at twilight I ponder what you've said
When I lie in bed at night your words run through my head.
It's difficult to forget the love that shone through, or so I thought
The intensity of feelings I could not sustain, nor had I sought.

Why the pain and the games, it this how it must end?
The challenge was before us, neither of us would bend.
Desire can be a dangerous thing, especially when it burns
The longing I had for you left me no where to turn.

Like two magnets that cannot be pulled apart,
Now I find it impossible to get you out of my heart.
The plight of two lovers that together must never be
Don't you see it went too far, you stole a part of me.

With only time to think, I gaze up at the darkening sky
My heart begins to fill with anger, I can only ask why.
Left alone with unanswered questions I might never know
If I asked you do I sit beneath a liar's moon, would you say no?
